Around Easter time 2006 we started a new venture. There has never been a Sunday School held at Providence Baptist, and we were increasingly concerned to provide an opportunity for the local children to come into the church to learn what the Christian faith is all about, in a fun and interesting way that all children should enjoy. We believe that the teachings of the Bible provide a good grounding for life, and as Christians we love to teach children about the Bible. We hope to be able, with God's help, to teach the children to see the relevance of God's word to their lives.
Who will be teaching the children, and what will they be doing?
We currently have two teachers, one of which is a qualified teacher and the other the mother of five young children who already attend. They are comitted to teaching the children through:
- Singing
- Reading the Bible (God's Word)
- Telling Bible stories
- Playing games
- Practical work (colouring / making)
- Quizzes / Puzzles
all of which the children enjoy.
Who can come?
We would encourage children of any age to attend. Although we have taken the decision not to limit the school to any particular age group at present, we would not expect that any child under the age of three would be brought along.
What time will you be starting?
We open the Sunday School sessions at 9:30 every Sunday morning, and they will last from about 45 minutes to one hour long.
Will my child be safe?
There will be at least four adults present at any one time, and all involved in this work have passed criminal records bureau checks.

What if I can't get my child there?
We may be able to offer a “door to door” service to pick up and drop off children, dependant upon demand. Please contact us if you feel this would be of use to you.
